More Pelicans!
A peek on a current piece, inspired by Pine Island.

My husband and I were down on Pine Island the other day and were amazed at the number of pelicans there!
They were very friendly and came right up to us. We didn't feed them or anything. They were so beautiful, though.
I will be including this piece in my summer collection, along with some other pelican close-ups of varying sizes.
This is a 36x24" stretched linen, oil primed.
This is also the initial block in, with more layers to come. I want to really put some detail into the water's reflections around the birds while also keeping the focal point in the lower right quadrant. I might also need to bring the far-right dock pillar closer to the foreground to prevent a tangent.
